Pitt River Day Trips

Pitt Lake is nestled in between two rugged coastal mountain ranges with Pine Cone Burke Provincial Park to the west, Golden Ears Provincial park to the east and Garibaldi Provincial Park to the north. Pitt Lake is the largest freshwater tidal lake in North America which still today has large salmon runs that migrate through the lake on their way home to the Upper Pitt River.

Most of the shoreline still contains old growth rain forest which is apparent once you begin your journey across the lake. Surrounded by rough peaks with glacier ice and scenic waterfalls. At The north end of Pitt Lake is the Upper Pitt River which is where the real adventure begins.

The historic town of Alvin was formed in the early 1900 as a logging community. The town of Alvin has been long forgottten but still has a few old cabins on site and the newer Pitt River Lodge. There is two ways to explore the Upper Pitt Valley, by jet boat in late Spring/early summer when the water is high or by road and trails when the water is too low to run our jet boats. There is still an active logging road in the upper Pitt Valley which is accessable only by water or air. Hot Springs are located 20 km's up the Pitt River Valley.

We offer several adventures to explore Pitt Lake and Upper Pitt River Valley and offer anglers the opportunity to fish the Upper Pitt River for Sea-run trout and salmon. This river offers world class fly fishing for both salmon and trout during peak runs.
