Once lunch is over we then navigate up the lower Pitt River into one of North America's largest Tidal Lakes. Pitt Lake is approximately 15 miles long with 3 provincial parks lining it's shore. The vast shoreline is a contrast between steep shorelines with tumbling streams interspersed with secret coves and islands, often with sandy beaches for swimming or fishing. This area is considered wilderness and home to bears and cougars. The southern end of the lake, north of Siwash Island is part of the Widgeon Valley Natural Wildlife Reserve, a nesting area for marsh birds.
Our tour will stop at several waterfalls and sandy beaches while exploring Pitt Lake, If water conditions allow we will also stop at the north end of Pitt Lake where the Upper Pitt river begins. Pitt Lake is one of the last remaing wilderness area's in the Vancouver Region, a day trip that you won't soon forget. Any visitor to Vancouver must see this amazing part of British Columbia.
